On May 17, 2011 Pure Bar was honored to be a part of “A Spring Evening”, The Lunchbox Fund’s annual fundraiser. This year’s event took place at Donna Karan’s Urban Zen Center in New York City, and was a joint event between The Lunchbox Fund, and their new partner, The Ubuntu Education Fund. The event was a huge success, raising over $70,000 for impoverished South African school children. It was a magical evening, punctuated with stellar performances that included musicians such as The Gift Horse Project with Karen Elson, Zac Hanson, Rain Phoenix and the legendary The Roots, as well as a sold out raffle benefitting the charities.
As one of the event’s sponsors, we were so pleased to share our passion to better the world, as well as our Pure Bars with the over 400 attendees, including notable guests Donna Karan, Salman Rushdie, Spike Jonze, Michael Stipe, Estelle, Ty Pennington, and more. But for us at Pure Bar, the most inspiring part of the evening was seeing people from all walks of life come together to help put an end to childhood hunger. We couldn’t’ think of a better way to spend a spring evening!
