Sounds yummy! We will have to try out this recipe. We are right there with you with natural/organic & local foods. We are not huge meat eaters but living in CO just bought our first cow for some hormone free local angus beef. It will most likely last us all year. Can't wait to try your recipe!

Hi,
I had been drinking at least 'the morning cup' for around 8 years, plus one or two more cup when learning for exams during my studies. I was very stressed and irritated all day long and it got so bad that I couldn't sleep properly because of such an extensive caffeine intake. I knew I shouldn't drink that much coffee, but I continued my 'morning cups'.It was really crazy period of my life.
Once, I watched a youtube video about one guy with extreme anxiety problems and there I learned that he found out the caffeine is what was making him extremely anxious - caffee and coke in his case.
I'm caffeine free since March 2011 and I very much enjoy my relaxed mood and naturaly low blood pressure that allows me to enjoy life more, be more patient and less stressed.
I read somewhere that caffeine also affect levels of blood sugar - it makes you feel hungry sooner or something like that.
Well, in short, I definitelly recommend to get of caffee and coke and if possible all other high caffeine stuff.

Great job on the info about the coffee.. I would really like to know what is good or not about it from a scientific perspective that has absolutely no connection with anything related to the coffee company of advertising, if you know what I mean.. there always seems to be a 'reason' to agree or not agree with the coffee consumption.

I actually quit coffee cold turkey about 5 years ago. It wasn't really tasting any good any more and it was hard to find a great tasting cup of coffee. So I just quit.. was it tough. Actually, not at all. It was just one of those things that when you decide to do it, you do.

I had not been able to drink coffee while pregnant so had to quit a couple of times before, but I think for me it was just the right time. It wasn't like I craved it anymore, or really liked it.. If you still like it and you only drink one or 2 cups of organic a day, you may not be ready to quit, just becasue "they" say it isn't good. Why do you want to quit drinking coffee? Does coffee really wake you up and make you happy, or is that what you have come to believe? Do you drink your coffee strong? You say it makes you jittery, in which situation? If it is everyday, then maybe you need to quit. Not that this vote helps you make your decision, but if you are contemplating quitting focus on the reasons why you want to stop and you may find it is easier than you think. Best wishes with your decision!

It is about balance and listening to your body. Even though I've been a one-cup-a-day drinker forever (the second one invariably makes me feel strung out and messes with my acid reflux), I cut down to drinking it only on the weekends (and the occasional cup out with a friend) after my naturopath explained how the high acidity in coffee can leach calcium from your bones. I'm already predisposed to get osteoporosis since I have celiac disease, so I figure anything I can do to avert that is beneficial. I do love a warm cup o' joe, but I've gotten used to having a warm cup of herbal tea in the morning instead. LOVE Good Earth's Sweet & Spicy herbal tea and Tulsi's Vanilla Creme herbal tea -- and I can drink as many cups of them as I desire!

I gave up coffee for 3 days once and the caffeine headache I experienced on the 2nd day was absolutely horrible. Plus I missed my morning cup of joe! But after those 3 days I vowed only to have coffee in the morning and not throughout the day like I used to! (with the exception of finals week!)
